  • Several cultural attractions can be visited. The Centre d’interprétation des mammifères marins (Marine mammal interpretation centre) should not be missed. These legendary creatures can be appreciated, understood and admired through an interactive exhibition

 

  • The little chapel of Tadoussac, known as the Indian Chapel (just near the big hotel) was built in 1747.  It is the oldest wooden church in North America and displays period religious objects and an interpretation of missionary life..

 

  • The Maison des Dunes interpretation centre houses a permanent exhibition and a team of park wardens who explain the geological phenomenon of sand dunes. Several short trails are accessible in the area.

 

  • The Chauvin trading post is a replica of the first fur trading post built in 1600 by Pierre de Chauvin de Tonnetuit. The exhibition covers pre-history, contact, the fur trade, the oil trade and the trading post, all complemented with appropriate text and films.

 

  • The workshop of sculptor Gaétan Hovington is open to show you the basics of wood sculpture and also learn from the immense talent of this legendary personality. 

 

  • With the diversity of its natural and cultural attractions and its lodging and restaurant facilities, Tadoussac is a lively village where you never get bored.
